Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Joust (“Joust”, “we”, “us”), the toolkit platform available at withjoust.com, joust.to, and related domains (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Joust is a platform of subscribable tools for solo founders and freelancers. Our first tool is the Booking Calendar, which gives you a personal scheduling link (for example, joust.to/your-handle), an embeddable booking widget, and optional two-way Google Calendar sync. We may add, change, or remove tools over time.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You may need to verify your email address to use certain features. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.
The Service is provided to businesses for business use. By subscribing, you confirm that you are entering into this agreement in the course of your business, trade, or profession and not as a consumer.
3. Your handle and booking link
Each account claims a unique handle that forms your public booking link. Some handles are reserved. You may not choose a handle that impersonates another person or brand, infringes trademarks, or is misleading. We may reclaim, suspend, or reassign handles that are dormant, abusive, infringing, or claimed in bad faith, including through our handle-request process.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes;
- send spam, or use bookings or emails to harass or mislead;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the Service;
- scrape or harvest data, or access the Service other than through the interfaces we provide;
- resell or sublicense the Service without our permission.
5. Bookings and invitees
As a host, you are responsible for the meetings you schedule and your interactions with invitees, including any content you add to your booking page or events, and any custom questions or fields you add to your booking form. Joust facilitates scheduling but is not a party to, and is not responsible for, the meetings themselves. Invitees submit their details (such as name and email) to book time with you; you are responsible for how you use that information.
When you use the booking tools, we process information about your clients (such as name, email, and booking history) on your behalf, including building customer records. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use invitee data, for any custom questions on your booking form, and for complying with applicable privacy laws. You are also responsible for ensuring you have permission to add staff members and display their names and availability on your booking page. Our Privacy Policy describes how we process this data.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Access to paid features requires an active subscription on the Pro or Business plan, billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges until you cancel. You may cancel anytime from Billing, effective at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable for partial periods. We may change pricing with reasonable notice.
Plans. The Pro plan includes the Booking Calendar, Google Calendar sync, team scheduling, and 2 included staff seats. The Business plan includes everything in Pro, the customer CRM, removal of Joust branding from your public booking page, access to additional tools as we release them to the Business plan, and 4 included staff seats. Feature availability may change as we develop the Service; material reductions will be communicated in advance.
Staff seats. Each plan includes a number of bookable staff seats (2 on Pro, 4 on Business). You may add extra seats for an additional monthly fee per seat. Seat changes are billed through your existing subscription and may be prorated. Reducing seats below your active staff count may require deactivating staff first.
Plan changes. You may upgrade or change plans through Billing. Upgrades may take effect immediately with prorated charges. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period unless otherwise stated.
Payment failures. If a payment fails, we may retry collection and email you. Access may continue for a limited period while payment is outstanding. If payment remains unresolved, we may suspend or cancel your subscription and restrict access to paid features.
Account deletion. Deleting your account cancels any active subscriptions and removes access to the Service. Your public booking page will no longer accept bookings.
7. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties, including Google (Calendar), Stripe (payments), and our email provider. Connecting Google Calendar authorises us to read and write calendar events as described in our Privacy Policy; you can disconnect at any time in Settings. Your use of those integrations is also subject to the third parties’ own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
Unless you are on the Business plan, your public booking page may display Joust branding or a referral link.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as your profile, event details, and booking data). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Joust and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or other intellectual property except as needed to use the Service.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that scheduling, reminders, or calendar sync will always be timely or accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joust will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or £100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Joust harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive will survive.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
